Museum für Naturkunde Magdeburg

advanced training

In addition to the regular guided tours, the Museum of Natural History also offers adult education events.

These include:

  • Seminars for federal volunteers (Bundesfreiwilligendienst) on the topic of nature conservation in Saxony-Anhalt. Volunteers learn, among other things, which habitats and organisms are particularly protected, which mechanisms in the economy, culture and politics contribute to their endangerment and which protective measures will be necessary to preserve our nature in the future.
  • Workshops on collection work in natural history museums as an accompanying program to the special exhibition “Nature in Focus – 150 Years of Collecting and Experiencing” („Natur im Fokus – 150 Jahre sammeln und erleben“). Participants learn about the work in a museum collection and how to apply it using their own brought objects and selected museum objects.
  • Teacher training on natural history topics by arrangement.
