Museum of Natural History
Every year, the Museum of Natural History Magdeburg offers one placement as part of a voluntary ecological year (Freiwilliges Ökologisches Jahr, FÖJ). As the body responsible for the FÖJ, the Saxony-Anhalt Foundation for the Environment, Nature and Climate Protection (Stiftung Umwelt, Natur- und Klimaschutz des Landes Sachsen-Anhalt, SUNK) organises the educational support for the volunteers during their time at our museum.
Projects
Volunteers are involved in a wide range of ecological projects and fields of activity. Typical areas of work include nature conservation, landscape management, environmental education, agriculture and climate protection. Volunteers learn about the practical aspects of ecology and environmental protection, develop social skills and actively contribute to the protection of nature and the environment.
During their FÖJ, volunteers can give free rein to their creativity and implement their own project in addition to their regular activities in the field of environmental education and animal welfare.
